Fire in Bloomington determined to be arson
The house fire on Key Road in Bloomington on Nov. 7 was an arson, County Fire Marshal Ron Pray said Saturday.
"We had the State Fire Marshal's Office come in, and they assisted us with an arson-detection K-9, and the K-9 hit on several locations. We sent off samples to the lab, and we are still awaiting those results. And there was other evidence that leads us to believe it is arson," Pray said.
Pray said he hopes the results will be in early next week, but said they could take longer.
The fire remains under investigation, he said, and no arrests have been made.
The fire was reported at 7:24 p.m. but was already out when firefighters arrived, said Battalion Chief Shannon Martin, of the Victoria Fire Department. A passerby extinguished the flames with a water hose.
No one was injured, but the home was damaged.
