Salvation Army seeks volunteers to help serve holiday meal
Salvation Army Capt. Laura Martin is eager to take part in her first community Thanksgiving meal in Victoria.
"We are looking forward to meeting lots of people that day," said Martin, who came to Victoria this summer along with husband Capt. Mark Martin, the local Salvation Army commander.
Martin said the Corps needs volunteers to assist with the Thanksgiving meal.
Volunteers should arrive at the Salvation Army headquarters, 1306 N. Louis St., by 10 a.m. Thursday.
The Salvation Army expects to serve between 350 to 400 meals.
The meal will include turkey, dressing and all the fixings, bread, desserts, tea and water.
The meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the headquarters. The meal is open to anyone who wants to attend.
