Change is coming to Speedy Stop in Victoria.
Construction is under way to expand the company's 8701 N. Navarro St. food store.
A permit filed with the City of Victoria indicates the company plans to demolish the station's current convenience store, car wash, canopy and gas dispensers. The plan, according to that same permit, is to replace the fixtures and add a new, 6,750-square-foot store.
Total square footage comes in at 159,429.1 square feet, with a valuation of $670,000.
That isn't the only possible change, however.
CSP Daily News, a website run by convenience news agency CSP, reported in October that C.L. Thomas Inc. planned to sell a number of Speedy Stop locations to 7-Eleven. C.L. Thomas currently operates more than 160 Speedy Stop stores, according to the company website.
Multiple calls to company personnel regarding both the expansion and rumored sales went unreturned.
