Editor, the Advocate:
This was perhaps the longest election in Texas history, and I'm profoundly grateful to the voters of Calhoun, DeWitt, Goliad, Jackson, Refugio and Victoria counties for their strong support in the race for District Judge. It's encouraging to see voters look beyond politics and personalities to focus on the qualifications and experience of candidates.
It was great to meet so many new people from those who offered cool drinks on hot days walking neighborhoods to those who fought the bugs and put up signs. You know who you are, and you have my sincerest thanks. I want to especially thank my wonderful wife and family, who poured their blood, sweat and tears into this campaign.
I'm humbled to have support from so many friends, old and new, and am proud of the issues-based campaign we ran. Many thanks again to everyone, and may your holidays be merry and bright.
Jack Marr, District Judge-Elect, 24 Judicial District, Victoria
