Food service inspection - Week ending Nov. 23

The Victoria City-County Health Department Environmental Health Division inspects places where food is served in Victoria, DeWitt, Jackson and Calhoun counties.

In the inspection reports, each violation in the Food Temperature/Time Requirements category is 5 demerits; in the Personnel/Handling/Source Requirements category, 4 demerits and in the Facility and Equipment Requirements, 3 demerits. Zero is a perfect score, while 100 demerits is the worst possible score.

Each Wednesday, the Advocate publishes inspection results from the previous week. All demerits are reported, but only those in the categories of Food Temperature/Time Requirements and Personnel/Handling/Source Requirements are detailed.



FOOD SERVICE INSPECTIONS FOR THE WEEK ENDING Nov. 23

Conners Corner Grocery Story, 101 W. York St., Ganado. Demerits: 13. Need to use lids and straws on employee drinks. Three facility or equipment violations.

Snowflake Donuts, 1002 S. Third St., Ganado. Demerits: 7. Cannot keep baby items in kitchen. One facility or equipment violation.

Subway/TA Travel Center, 802 E. York St., Ganado. Demerits: 7. Need to use lids and straws on employee drinks. One facility or equipment violation.

Meat Center, 3035 Farm-to-Market Road 822, Edna. Demerits: 7. Two facility or equipment violations.

Golden Corral, 532, 5102 N. Navarro St. Demerits: 7. Inadequate hand washing. One facility or equipment violation.

Treatment Associates Inc., 107 Cozzi Circle. Demerits: 7. Inadequate hand washing. One facility or equipment violation.

China B, 3611 N. Navarro St.. Demerits 6. Two facility or equipment violations.

Domino's Pizza, 2007 N. Laurent St.; Las Palmas Mexican Cafe, 6007 N. Main St.; The Forum Club, 1901 E. Red River St.; Ventura's Tamales, 3907 N. Navarro St. Demerits: 3.

First Victoria National Bank, 101 S. Main St.; Gonzalez Cafe, 1103 S.W. Moody St.; KB's Barbecue mobile unit, 2611 Levi Sloan Road; LaCabana, 2013 E. Red River St.; Retama Manor South, 3103 E. Airline Drive; The Victoria Advocate, 311 E. Constitution St. Demerits: 0.



Re-inspections

Buffet City, 9104 Navarro St., inspected Nov. 15 with nine demerits. Re-inspected Nov. 16, all violations corrected.
