CASA volunteer training offered
Volunteer training for Court Appointed Special Advocates will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Victoria Public Library, 302 N. Main St.
Lunch will be provided.
The two-part class will also be held on Oct. 13.
CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children, to make sure they don't get lost in the legal and social service system.
Volunteers stay with each case until it is closed and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. For many abused children, their CASA volunteer will be the one constant adult presence in their lives.
To register for the training, call 361-573-3734.
