The skies over downtown Victoria were awash in bright colors Friday night during one of the biggest fireworks displays in the Crossroads region.

The fireworks were ignited from the top of the O'Connor Plaza building and capped off the first day of the two-day Bootfest. The event continued Saturday and featured area artisans and boot makers, children's activities and food and drink.

Music aficionados were treated to the sounds of Clay Crockett & the Shotgun Riders, Black Dutch Sioux, Bart Crow and Easton Corbin.

Bootfest officials estimated this year's crowds to be double of last year's inaugural festival.
