Beeville woman dies in one-vehicle wreck in Refugio County

A 24-year-old Beeville woman died at the scene of a one-vehicle crash in Refugio County early Saturday morning.
Roxanna Leal was the passenger in a 2009 Toyota Camry traveling west on Farm-to-Market Road 2441, about one mile west of Woodsboro, according to a report by Department of Public Safety Trooper Todd Kocian.
The driver, David Noel Leal, 22, of Karnes City, attempted to negotiate a curve at a high rate of speed and lost control of the car, according to the report.
He went over an embankment, became airborne and flipped the car twice, coming to rest upright. The wreck was reported about 6 a.m.
Roxanna Leal, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:27 a.m. by Refugio Justice of the Peace Emi Riemenschneider.
Leal, who was wearing a seat belt, was pinned in the vehicle. He was removed and taken by helicopter to Christus Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Memorial.
His condition was listed as critical but stable with head trauma in the report.
His condition was not available as of 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
