My name is Edward Pustka. I was born at Huth Memorial Hospital in Yoakum. I grew up near Hallettsville and attended school at Hallettsville ISD. I received a scholarship to Texas Lutheran College in Seguin, where I played football and baseball. After two years, I transferred to Southwest Texas State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in education. I also hold a master's degree from University of Houston-Victoria with a specialization in mid-management. In 1977, I met the love of my life, Sandra Hanslik, and my world changed for the better. We were married in 1978 and both taught school throughout our adult lives. Most of my teaching and administrative career was spent in Lavaca County, spending 12 years at Vysehrad ISD as both a teacher and superintendent followed by 17 years at Moulton ISD as the superintendent. One of the highlights of my 34-year career in education is working among my neighbors, watching you raise your children to become successful individuals as well as good citizens.
I wish to continue my service to the community and am asking for your support and vote for Lavaca County Commissioner of Precinct 1. I have executed million-dollar public budgets and managed organizations with multiple employees. As your commissioner, I will be honest, efficient, productive and will do quality work. One of my priorities will be listening to the people. Also, I will work with the Commissioners Court to maintain county roads and the budget.
Sandra and I have three children and one grandchild. We have lived between Hallettsville and Witting for 27 years. I enjoy all sports and outdoor activities, but my greatest joy is being with my family. I would appreciate your vote on Nov. 6.
