Emergency personnel investigate the scene of a two-vehicle crash at Mallette Street and Zac Lentz Parkway in Victoria on Wednesday.

A Victoria man was listed in good condition at DeTar Hospital Navarro after he wrapped his maroon Expedition around a bridge's concrete support beam Wednesday morning.

Eric Robinson, 17, was traveling west on the access road of Zac Lentz Parkway about 9:48 a.m. beside William Moeller, of Victoria.

Moeller, 83, was driving a 2002 Toyota Tacoma, tried to shift from the far right hand lane to the U-turn lane at the Zac Lentz Parkway and the Mallette Street underpass and collided with Robinson, Accident Investigator and Senior Patrol Officer Herschel Buck said.

Robinson's Expedition continued through the intersection and became sandwiched between two concrete support beams, he said.

Robinson was taken by ambulance to DeTar with head injuries. Moeller was not hurt.

Moeller said he was driving back to work after visiting the Social Security office.

"He hit me, and I don't even know where he came from," he said. His car sustained minor damage.

Buck said Robinson was speeding, but didn't know by how much. He also said Moeller tried to change lanes when it was unsafe to do so. Neither have received a ticket.

The Texas Department of Transportation also inspected the scene and found that the collision didn't cause any damage to the bridge other than cosmetic issues, Buck said.

The Victoria Police Department, the Victoria Fire Department and Texas Department of Transportation responded to the wreck.
