Julia Freude and Roger Welder Jr., both of Victoria, were married at 5:30 p.m. on October 27, 2012 at The Welder Ranch in Refugio. Rev. Tom Williams, of Victoria, officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Carolyn Bradshaw and the late James Freude, of Victoria. She is the granddaughter of James Whitlock, of Victoria, Susan Roberts, of Victoria, the late Calton Freude, of Victoria, and Helen Frost, of Yoakum.
The groom is the son of Roger and Donna Welder, of Victoria. He is the grandson of Virginia and the late Leo Welder, of Victoria, and the late William and Mary Gongaware.
Brittany Matchett, of Austin, attended as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Cristina Peñon, of San Antonio, Paula Dixon, of Victoria, and Jennifer Lowder, of Victoria. Kathryn Hickman, of Victoria, daughter of the bride, attended as flower girl.
Cody Zabransky, of Houston, served as best man. Groomsmen were Philip Welder, of Victoria, William Welder, of Norman, OK, and Todd Thompson, of Tulsa, OK. Braedyn and Taylor Dixon, of Victoria, served as ring bearers.
Ushers were Ronald Bruce Walker Jr., of San Antonio, and Mitchell Youngblood, of Corpus Christi.
A reception was held following the ceremony at The Welder Ranch. The couple will travel to the Smoky Mountains in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, Tennessee area.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of St. Joseph High School and a 2007 graduate of Texas A&M with a B.S. in Psychology. She is currently employed as the Quality Management Coordinator at The Devereux Foundation in Victoria.
The groom is a 2002 graduate of St. Joseph High School and a 2006 graduate of Texas A&M Kingsville with a B.S. in Industrial Technology. He is currently employed as the District Manager for an oilfield tool supplier.
