Burns wins intermediate first place in barrel racing

J.R. Burns, of Victoria, won the first place intermediate title in barrel racing at the 2012 Adequan Select American Quarter Horse Association World Championship Show on Aug. 30 in Amarillo.

Burns showed her American Quarter Horse, Hes A Hot Topic, who is a 2006 sorrel gelding.

Hes A Hot Topic, sired by Hesthetalkofthetown and Out of Navy Base, was bred by Wesley Ball of Goliad.

The intermediate awards program is designed to recognize exhibitors who have never placed in the top 10 at an AQHA world show in the particular class in which they are competing.
