Master Naturalists: Rockport-Fulton Hummer/Bird Celebration Sept. 13-16

Rockport-Fulton Hummer/Bird Celebration, Sept. 13-16, posted the additional Celebration information below on its website, rockporthummingbird.com.
Kevin Karlson, keynote speaker, will go on all half-day bus birding trips, Friday through Sunday. Trips return before lunch in time for afternoon speakers. Friday's trip, at 6 a.m.. visits Fennessey Ranch to bird on a privately-owned ranch managed for wildlife. It includes portions of Mission River and a lake.
Saturday's trip, at 6:30 a.m., visits Tule Lake and Indian Point/Sunset Lake to observe shorebirds from boardwalks over both soft and hard substrate shorelines.
Sunday's trip at 6:30 a.m., visits Hazel Bazemore State Park to bird the varied habitat bordering the Nueces River, and to visit the famous Hawk Watch in progress as raptor migration builds to its peak.
Second, bus trips to Hummer Homes include viewing Hummingbird Banding Team Leader Bob Sargent banding from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday; from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 3 to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday
