Roger Clemens doesn't belong in Hall of Fame

Sept. 8, 2012 at 4:08 a.m.

Editor, the Advocate:

Reading the Advocate, I'm seeing that Roger Clemens' name is appearing in the news quite a lot lately.

Seems as though Clemens is trying to change the public's view of him. It appears Clemens thinks he has been cleared of cheating by using steroids. No! No!

The only thing Roger Clemens was cleared of was lying to Congress. He was named in the Mitchell report of doping; his fellow players were aware he was using steroids. Also his good friend Andy Pettite was aware.

Victorians, Clemens knows that at the end of 2012 his name is going to be voted on as to whether he should be named to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Clemens may be a Texan, but one without honor.

Texans, why would we want Clemens' name put next to one of our own, the great Nolan Ryan, who retired honorably? I vote no, no, no!
