Fire fills Navarro Street residence with smoke

Victoria Fire Department firefighters responded to a house fire about 1 p.m. Sunday that ignited in the 600 block of North Navarro Street.

Battalion Chief Roger Hempel said the fire ignited underneath the home and moved into the living room. No one was inside when the house caught fire.

Hempel said firefighters extinguished the flames in about 30 minutes. No injuries were reported.
