Victoria College's Workforce and Continuing Education Department has teamed up with Huvar's Artisan Market in downtown Victoria to present a new Lunch and Learn Series. The first of three upcoming programs, "Essentials of Leadership and Conflict Resolution," is Wednesday.
"Our Lunch and Learn Series is specifically designed with working professionals in mind," said Sherri Pall, director of VC's Workforce and Continuing Education. "We know business professionals find it difficult to juggle their work and find time for skills training, so we are taking the training to them in a lunch and learn format."
This month's "Essentials of Leadership and Conflict Resolution" will offer tips on how to become a more effective leader and help reduce or resolve conflict within organizations. Tools proven to enhance leadership effectiveness, business relationships, and team performance and productivity will also be discussed.
October's program, "Lean Office," will be presented on Wednesday, Oct. 10 and offer tips and tools to increase productivity and reduce waste in administrative and office operations.
On Wednesday, Nov. 7, Ricky De La Garza will discuss the American Heart Association's new "Hands-Only CPR Awareness Campaign."
"Ricky is one of VC's emergency medical technician instructors and has worked as an EMT for many years," said Pall. "This lively presentation will show how the 70s disco classic, "Stayin' Alive" by the Bee Gees, teaches people how to save lives."
Lunch and Learn participants are responsible for their own lunch expense, but there is no charge for the program. All programs will begin at noon at Huvar's Artisan Market.
