The University of Houston-Victoria women's soccer program snapped a two-game losing streak Thursday when they defeated UT-Permian Basin 3-1 in Odessa.

Two goals in four minutes, separated by halftime, allowed the Jaguars to take control of the game. Haiydee Moran assisted Vanessa Plascencia's first goal of the season in the 43rd minute. Ninety seconds after halftime Ciara Devore added the Jaguars second after the Falcons goalkeeper made a mistake.

With the win the Jaguars improve to 3-3 on the season.

The Jaguar men were not as fortunate. Despite taking an early lead, the UHV men lost to UT-Permian Basin 3-2. Hector Ramirez scored in the 14th minute, but the Jaguars could not hold onto the lead.

The Falcons scored three goals, two in the first half, the final in the 73rd minute to remain undefeated at home. Victoria Memorial graduate Stiven Ospina scored in the 78th minute to complete the scoring. The Jaguars fall to 3-5 on the season with the loss.
