By the way, "racist" is not a term that applies to a specific race nor is being a "bigot". Thanks for that information Carole The term can be applied to ALL races so Rita's comment about racism is not out of possibilities. The dictionary definition of Bigot is: a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance So by this definition All racists are bigots, but all bigots are not necessarily racists.
The solid “I always vote the straight D or R ticket no matter who is running” fit the definition of “Bigot” because when they make this boast they are fitting themselves right into the definition : “ a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices;”.
Maybe Carole can explain how anyone who boasts they will never vote for a member of the opposing party does not fit this definition.

  • We have all heard stories of trials in the old west where the law men said “ Take this man out and give him a fair trial and hang him”The Democrat convention evidently operated under the same sort of orders. The platform left the name of God out. The big chief wanted it back and sent down the order “Put this up to a voice vote and declare God to be recognized in the platform” When it obviously failed on two voice votes a shot of the teleprompter showed the message “Declare the ayes have it”
This wasn’t the only difficulty faced by the party. Obama’s plan to make his big speech in Bank of America Stadium were canceled, because of a 20 percent chance of rain on an evening that turned out to be clear and peaceful.

Do you think there was a connection between the Democrats’ trying to get God out of the platform and their fear of being struck by lightning.
