Open auditions for 'The Nutcracker' set for Oct. 7

"The Nutcracker" 2012 open auditions for Victoria Ballet Theatre will begin at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 7 at Busby Dancenter, 2508 E. Mockingbird Lane.

Performance dates are Dec. 6 to 9.

Audition times are as follows: girls ages 6-7, 1:30-2:15 p.m.; girls ages 8-11, 2:30-3:15 p.m.; boys ages 7 and up, 3:15-3:45 p.m.; and adults interested in performing in Act I Party Scene, 3:45 p.m.

All girls should wear leotard and tights, shoes or socks. Boys and adults should wear street clothes.

Anyone cast in "The Nutcracker" must be available for costume fittings on Oct. 14.

A $45 fee will be assessed to each cast member.

Parents of children cast in the performance must attend a meeting on Oct. 14. This is a mandatory meeting and should be taken into consideration before auditioning.
