Thumbs-up, thumbs-down; it's your choice
Thumbs-up to the Sermon/America's problem spiritual, not financial by John Fisher. This article appeared in the Sept. 15 paper. Great article and written in excellent format. I just wish the right people would have read it. Unfortunately, they didn't. We are headed toward a collision course and many people have no clue that we are headed toward disaster. Better get ready.
Thumbs-up to Shades of Color Professional Ladies & First Victoria Bank for their donations of school supplies to the Boys & Girls Club of Victoria towards the After School Program. Their generosity is genuinely appreciated.
Boys & Girls Club of Victoria, Inc.
Thumbs-up to Allene Bethke, who at 93 years of age is still cooking at Goliad Senior Citizens Center. What a role model for others!

Thumbs-down to the current political situation in our country. If the U.S. of A. ever goes down the tube, this world will not be fit to live in. The U.S. of A. must lead the world, so let's start leading in November.
Thumbs-down to not televising the Texas Rangers on a consistent basis. Sometimes the cable company will broadcast the game on 66, but not all the time. I have been told by the Victoria Advocate that Victoria is an Astro town; however, the Texas Rangers are number one in their conference and have the best record in the American League. I love watching a winning Texas team, and we should support them.
Thumbs-down to the automobile dealership near the corner of North Navarro and Mockingbird, that has so many vehicles on the lot that one lane of east-bound Mockingbird has to be blocked in order to unload more automobiles for delivery. Is it legal to do this? I understand if the city is blocking traffic to work on stop lights, signs, maybe the sewer/water systems or even if the local power company has to block a section to replace street lights that the city pays a monthly fee for. Every other dealer has an onsite space for trucks to unload. Why does this dealership get to cause traffic issues?
