2012 South Texas Commodity Symposium will be in Robstown
The third annual South Texas Commodity Symposium takes place Oct. 4 at RMB Fairgrounds in Robstown.
Speakers include Texas Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples, who will give an update on state border control and immigration issues; Tom Sell of Combest, Sell and Associates, who will offer an update on the 2012 Farm Bill; and Brian McCuistion, with the Texas Grain Producers Indemnity Board, who will discuss the upcoming indemnity fund referendum.
This is the first year the symposium, hosted by Texas Corn Producers, Texas Grain Sorghum Producers, South Texas Cotton & Grain Association and Southwest Council of Agribusiness, will take place in conjunction with the Texas AgXchange Farm & Ranch Show.
The symposium lasts from 10 a.m. to noon and includes free lunch tickets to the AgXchange BBQ Cook-off. It takes place at Robstown's RMB Fairgrounds, 1213 Terry Shamsie Blvd.
