Ask God for strength, unity in US, guidance

Editor, the Advocate:

Forty days of prayer for the elections.

2 Chronicles 7:14 - "If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

This presidential election is one of the most important ones in the history of America. We need to come together and pray and let God hear our voices. We need to ask God for unity in America, for strength, for guidance and for God's will to be done.

The First Church of the Nazarene, 1105 Edinburgh St., in the Northcrest neighborhood, will be open from 7 to 8 p.m. every night starting Sept. 28 through Nov. 5. We encourage and challenge all churches in Victoria to open their doors and altars to any and all persons to come to God's house to seek His mercy and grace and wisdom for this upcoming election.

Philippians 4:6 - "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplications, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God."
