St. Joe seniors offer flag sponsorships for Field of Honor

Sept. 29, 2012 at 4:29 a.m.

St. Joseph High School seniors are offering flag sponsorships now through Nov. 7 for the Field of Honor as part of their Project Graduation. Among the seniors working on the project are, from left, Sarah Eaves, Eric Alvarez, Jess Williams and Annie Gilliam.

For the third year St. Joseph High School Project Graduation is partnering with Warrior's Weekend and the Field of Honor.

The St. Joseph senior class of 2013 will offer U.S. flag sponsorships for $40 per flag now through Nov. 7. The flag sponsorships honor military heroes of all branches and recognize veterans in memory or in honor.

To learn more about Warrior's Weekend and the Field of Honor, visit warriorsweekend.org.

On May 12, 2013, Warrior's Weekend will pay tribute to veterans who have served in the U.S. armed forces with the Field of Honor, 2002 E. Mockingbird Lane, by posting American flags, each 3 feet by 5 feet, on 8 foot staffs in perfect rows and columns.

For each sponsored flag, Warrior's Weekend will donate $20 back to the school as a "thank you" for supporting veterans. A label affixed to a ribbon on the flagstaff will designate that specific veteran. The flag sponsor may keep or donate the flag to Warrior's Weekend.

Flags may be ordered by completing the form provided by the participating student or by visiting the website.
