Heifers: (200-300) $130-$175; (300-400) $121-$150; (400-500) $116-$170; (500-600) $118-$161; (600-700) $108-$153; and (700-800) $100-$115.

Receipts: 1,727

Had 171 cows and eight bulls. The packer market was steady with last week's market except for fat cows that were $2-$3/cwt higher.

The calf market in response to a weaker fat cattle market was lower by about $1.50-$3/cwt. Most of the weakness was in the No. 1 to No. 2 grade calves as the front end steers were steady with last week's gain. As usual the replacement heifer market dominates the heifer market by $10-$15/cwt premium over feeders.

Packer bulls: Heavy weights, $87-$92; lower grades, $75-$85.

Packer cows: breakers, $68-$74; boning cows, $70-$76; canners and cutters, $68-$77; light and weak, $50-$65.

Palpated dry cows: $84-$99; pairs: none.

Compared to our last sale: Calves and yearlings sold steady to $1 to $2 higher. Packer cows sold $1 to $2 lower.

Compared to last week: The market was a little weaker this week. Better quality calves and yearlings sold mostly $3 lower. Demand good on the better kinds and weaker on the plainer types.

Packer cows and bulls sold $2 higher on about 130 head total.

Packer cows: Higher dressing utility and cutter cows, $73-$83; lower dressing utility and cutter cows, $61-$73; light weight canner cows, $50-$61.

Packer bulls: Heavyweight bulls, $92-$95; utility and cutter bulls, $85-$92; light weight canner bulls, $76-$85.
