A Victoria man was taken to Citizens Medical Center on Tuesday after he crashed into three parked cars in the 3500 block of Cedar Street.

Mario Gomez, 48, was southbound on Cedar Street in a white Chrysler van on his way home when he had a medical episode and lost control, said Victoria Police Officer Bryan Knief.

Gomez suffered minor injuries, Knief said, after he rammed his van underneath one of the parked cars. He was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Chris Rocha, owner of the three parked vehicles, said he is thankful they were parked in front of the driveway.

"My 5-year-old daughter was right here playing in the front yard. If I would have moved them out of the way, he could have hit her or the house," Rocha said.
