Days Inn isn't the only new retreat for those visiting Victoria. Homewood Suites by Hilton Victoria opened for business March 12 at 6705 NE Zac Lentz Parkway.
The 109-room hotel consists of all suites, said Christy Henry, the hotel's director of sales. Rooms include kitchens with full refrigerators, stovetops, microwaves and dishwashers, she said, as well as the silverware, pots and pans, plates and more that guests might need during their stay.
A fitness center, swimming pool, business center and sport court join the mix, Henry said, while a complimentary breakfast buffet is available daily. Complimentary dinner with beer and wine is available to guests Monday through Thursday.
Henry said the hotel also offers grocery shopping services.
Guests leave their lists with the staff, who shop for them, she said. Guests pick up the groceries upon their return, and the service is billed to the room.
Meanwhile, a shuttle service is in the works. Although details have not yet been finalized, it will likely transport guests to and from the airport and within a five-mile radius of the hotel.
Henry said the hotel aims to live up to its mascot, the mallard.
"They say that a duck always returns home," she said. "The Homewood Suites is considered your home away from home."
