He doesn't often walk the red carpet, and the paparazzi don't trail his every move. Still, area voters prove there's more to celebrity status than that.
Gary Moses was voted the Crossroads' best local celebrity in the Advocate's 2013 Best of the Best contest. This is his fourth consecutive year winning the category.
The well-known Victoria native and former schoolteacher spends much of his time emceeing local events and donating his time to Crossroads causes. Although humbled and honored by the recognition, he admitted he doesn't view himself a celebrity.
His true goal, he said, is to give back when he can.
"I don't do any of it for the recognition," said Moses, 63. "I feel like a very lucky and blessed man to do what I do and to be in a position to help others."
