Victoria Advocate readers voted the Children's Discovery Museum the best museum in the 2013 Best of the Best competition.

Although the Children's Discovery Museum of the Golden Crescent went through some bumps in the road in 2012, the museum came out on top as 2013 Best of the Best museum.

"I just think that's really cool," said founding member LeOlive Rogge. "I feel like in a way we've met our goal in making sure people know we're here."

The museum opened two new exhibits this year, despite not knowing how long they will remain in the building they have called home for the past 11 years. The Junior League, which owns the building, is in the process of selling it.

"I don't think anybody has ever come in here and not been blown away," Rogge said. "We want to stay downtown."
