Hastings was voted best music shop in the 2013 Best of the Best competition.

Crossroads residents flock to Hastings for their music needs. At least, that's what Victoria Advocate's Best of Best contest results say.

The 7-year-old store has more than 4,000 CDs to choose from as well as sheet music for guitars, bass and banjo.

"We, as a department, try to create a fun, upbeat shopping experience," lifestyles manager Zane Kallus said.

The workers keep the experience fun by pointing customers in the right direction. For example, the George Strait CD is hot right now - so hot it's flying off the shelves.

"So we try to introduce them to similar artists who have taken a few notes from King George," Kallus said.
