Working since 1979, dermatologist Gary Cox has seen everyone from teenagers with acne to rashes and psoriasis on adults.
All in all, Cox still enjoys the work he does, and Advocate readers must, too. They voted him best dermatologist in the Crossroads in the 2013 Best of the Best competition.
"His goal with every patient is to resolve their problem," said William Meyers, nurse manager. "If he can't do it, his goal is to refer the patient to other doctors who understand the problem."
Meyers said Cox judges every patient differently. Over his career as a dermatologist, Cox has helped each patient to the best of his ability. But he is never afraid to admit when he has met his match.
"We never try to compromise the patients' care," Meyers said. "We refer them out if it is in the patients' best interest."
