Generals name assistant coach, marketing director

Jonathan Burns has been named the assistant coach for the Victoria Generals in the upcoming Texas Collegiate League season.
Burns is currently in his first year as the pitching coach at Texas A&M- Kingsville.
Burns played at Cisco Junior College and St. Edward's University.
Burns had a 7-4 record and six saves during his senior season at St. Edward's.
Burns was selected in the 26th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft by the Atlanta Braves.
He played for two seasons in the Braves' minor league system before becoming a volunteer assistant coach at St. Edward's.
The Generals open the season May 30 at The Woodlands Strykers.
Generals add new Director of Marketing and Communications
Richard Haifley will join the Victoria Generals this summer as the team's new Director of Marketing and Communications. He will be tasked with building on the Generals' brand in Victoria and around the Crossroads.
Haifley recently graduated from Stephen F. Austin, where he worked multiple roles in the athletic media department. He also served as the play-by-play voice for radio broadcasts and public address announced for multiple sports.
