Balloons caught in electric lines caused power problems in a part of Victoria Tuesday night.
About 7:30 p.m., a group of Mylar balloons became entangled in the major power line along Navarro Street, interfering with service to 1,283 customers, said Elgin Janssen, American Electric Power Company spokesman.
"The power was never completely down, but the balloons kept blowing back into the lines enough to cause multiple blinks," Janssen said.
The balloons were removed about 45 minutes after the initial call.
