St. Mary's Altar Society hosts meeting
St. Mary's Altar Society met April 8 at 401 S. Liberty St. Al Bomba, president, called the meeting to order with 41 members present and one guest, Jeff Osterhout. The Rev. Patrick Knippenburg led the invocation.
Shirley Kloesel announced that the Games party, hosted by the Altar Society, will be April 23. Doors open at 11 a.m. There will be a country store, and lunch will be served. For reservations, call Ann Carver at 361-575-2050 or Martha Hamel at 361-575-1932. The event is at the St. Mary's Activity Center, 401 S. Liberty St.
We thank Brenda Lejune for her service as sanctuary chairperson. Georgia West will assume this position.
Janell Kruppa thanked all that donated toward the beautiful Easter flowers and Lejune and helpers for decorating.
The shut-ins were most appreciative of the small gift of holy water bottles with holy water in them.
Altar care for May will be Fred and Shirley Kloesel.
The last coffee and donut social will be after the 8 a.m. Mass on April 21.
Hostesses for the meeting were Unice Dove, Patti Osterhout, Martha Hamel and Terri Wearden.
