April 4 Indictments

Indicted

Editor's Note: An indictment is not an indication of guilt. It is a finding by a grand jury that enough evidence exists to warrant a trial.

VICTORIA - A grand jury returned indictments on the following people April 4:

Maria Guadalupe Alanis, 29, of Weslaco, on a charge of possession of marijuana between 50 and 2,000 pounds Jan. 19.

Dustin Ray Alaniz, 21, of Victoria, on a charge of manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance, Xanax, less than 28 grams in a drug-free zone Nov. 30.

Alyssa Renee Aragon, 18, of Victoria, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, Xanax, less than 28 grams in a drug-free zone Nov. 1.

Christopher Cordil-Cortinas, 22, of Victoria, on a charge of driving while intoxicated third or more offense Oct. 22.

Richard Cordova, 40, of Victoria, on a charge of theft of property less than $1,500 with two or more previous convictions. He is charged with stealing steaks valued at $1,500 from a business in the 1500 block of East Rio Grande Street.

Vicente Gaspar Hinojosa, 28, of Victoria, on a charge of driving while intoxicated third or more offense Dec. 4.

Charles Jovonne Hopson Jr., 20, of Victoria, on a charge of burglary of a habitation Nov. 20. In a second indictment, Hopson was charged with two other burglary of a habitations. In that indictment, he was charged with assaulting a woman after he entered her home Feb. 25.

Paul Anthony Lagrega, 63, of Victoria, on a charge of driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years of age Dec. 29.

Alfredo Lamas Jr., 29, of Victoria, on a charge of robbery Feb. 21.

Virgil Malatek, 38, of Victoria, on a charge of manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance between 4 and 400 grams, manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance less than 28 grams and tampering and fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair charges. He is charged with possessing with the intent to deliver Kush and Xanax.

Santos Valentin Ramos, 21, of Victoria, on a charge of tampering or fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair. He is charged with concealing marijuana while he was being arrested for a possession of a handgun Nov. 30.

Sherry Lynn Shelton, 50, of Yoakum, on a charge of driving while intoxicated third or more offense Jan. 8.
