Laura Jackson and Sean Washburn, both of Dallas, were married at 2 p.m. on April 13, 2013 at Southside Baptist Church in Palestine. Rev. Doug Washburn, of Palestine, officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Jeanne Rhodes Jackson and the late Robert F. Jackson, of Palestine. She is the granddaughter of Marion and Melba Rhodes, of Victoria. The groom is the son of David and Rebecca Washburn, of Las Vegas, NV.
Amanda Ames, of Garland, attended as matron of honor. Cindy Lou Parker, of Houston, attended as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Colette Loudin, of Austin, and Christi Giffin, of Frisco. Claire Salser and Alexandra Salser, both of Sunnyvale, attended as junior bridesmaids.
Specialist Tyler Roberts, of Fremont, NB served as best man. Sergeant Stanley Robinson, of Lancaster, served as groomsman. Ushers were Staff Sergeant Wilder Louis, of Rowlett, Sergeant Fernando Bravo, of Tyler, Sergeant Robert Culver, of Whitehouse, and Sergeant Quincy Reynolds, of Plano.
A reception was held following the ceremony at East Texas Museum of Culture in Palestine. The couple will spend their honeymoon on a Royal Caribbean Cruise to Cozumel, Grand Cayman Islands and Jamaica.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of Palestine High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies from Dallas Baptist University and will receive a Masters of Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from The University of Texas at Arlington in May of 2013. The bride is currently employed as an elementary school teacher in the Fort Worth ISD.
The groom is a 2000 graduate of Rancho Bernardo High School in Rancho Bernardo, CA. He served in the United States Navy and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland - University College. He is currently employed as an Information Technology Specialist for the United Stated Marine Corps.
