DeTar Healthcare System and the Victoria Advocate announce the call for entries for the annual Adorable Baby Amateur Photography Contest. Entries will be accepted now through April 30.

Photos of babies born at the Women and Children's Center at DeTar Hospital North between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2012, are eligible.

Prizes will be awarded for the top 10 photographs as chosen by a panel of judges. The first-, second- and third-place winners will be featured in the Your Life section of the Mother's Day edition of the Victoria Advocate on May 12.

The first-place winner will receive a check for $100; second place will receive a $75 check; third place will receive a $50 check; seven honorable mention award winners will each receive a check for $25.

But because this is a contest, we must have rules.

Only photos of babies born at the Women and Children's Center at DeTar Hospital North are eligible for entry.

Winners will be chosen based on the photo's quality, composition and originality.

Only one photo per child can be entered. Twins and other multiples may be entered individually or together but not both ways.

No professional photographs are permitted.

The photo will not be returned.

On back of the photograph, please print the child's full name, birth date, parents' names, address and phone number. Photos submitted may be used in future advertising for DeTar Healthcare System with your signed consent. You may bring your entry by the Administration Office at DeTar Hospital Navarro, 506 E. San Antonio St., the Human Resources Office at DeTar Hospital North, 101 Medical Drive or mail it to: DeTar Healthcare System's Adorable Baby Contest, Attn: Judith Barefield, Marketing, PO Box 2089, Victoria, TX 77902-2089

The deadline for submitting photos is 4 p.m. April 30. No entries will be accepted after this time.
