The 13 candidates for Victoria City Council will meet Tuesday for a televised debate.
The League of Women Voters of Victoria partnered with the Victoria Television Group to moderate and broadcast the forum. Panel moderators are Thomas Martinez, Victoria Advocate managing editor for digital; Rick Perkins, Voices United publisher; and Rissa Shaw of KAVU.
"This is going to be a technology-driven debate," said League President Kathy Hunt.
Watch the debate from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday on KAVU-TV, Channel 25.
Hunt said this is the League's first adventure into using television and social media to conduct forums.
Because there is not room for a studio audience, the league will accept questions ahead of time at LWVvictoria@gmail.com.
The League will partner with the Victoria College Student Government Group to host another forum in a traditional style with a "meet and greet" from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., April 30 at the Leo J. Welder Center for the Performing Arts, 214 N. Main St. in Victoria.
The Victoria Advocate's debates featuring all of the candidates are available for viewing on Election Central at VictoriaAdvocate.com.
