The Victoria Generals have added battery mates from the University of Texas-San Antonio to their roster.

Catcher John Bormann and pitcher Nolan Trabanino will join the team for the upcoming Texas Collegiate League season, according to Blake Koch, vice president and general manager of the Generals.

Bormann, a sophomore from Seguin, has started all 40 games behind the plate for the Roadrunners. He is hitting .311 with one home run, 10 doubles and 21 RBIs.

"John just might be the best defensive catcher in the state of Texas," Koch said. "He's also had a really great season at the plate, and we'll rely on him to be a run producer in our lineup."

Trabanino, a 6-foot-4 freshman left-hander from Clear Brook, has a 3-2 record with a 4.62 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 48.2 innings.

"Nolan has the frame and profile to be a future draft pick," Koch said. "He has a high ceiling and will get a lot of quality game experience for us this summer on the mound."

The Generals open the season at The Woodlands Strykers on May 30 and play their home opener June 4 against the Texas Marshals.
