Victoria West High School was honored by the High Schools That Work organization with an Award of Excellence for Continuous Improvement. State consultant Gary Wrinkle told trustees that the award recognizes the commitment of the West administration and staff in seeking to improve instruction overall. Wrinkle cited book studies, campus visits to study best practices elsewhere and leadership focus teams as some of the ways the school is seeking to grow student success. HSTW is the largest school reform model in the U.S. and dates back to the mid-1980s.
