228 vote in person on first day of early voting

The first day of early voting saw 228 people cast their ballot in person Monday. Early voting for the May 11 election continues through May 7.

Of the 1,231 early voting by mail ballots sent out, 793 have been returned, according to a news release from the Victoria County election administrator's office.

Early voting by mail continues to accept applications until 5 p.m. Friday. Contact the elections office at 361-576-0124 for more information.

Early voting in person continues weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through May 7 at the Dr. Pattie Dodson Public Health Center in Classroom A, 2805 N. Navarro St. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and May 7. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Election Day at your election precinct polling location.
