Six people - including four children - were taken to a hospital after a two-car wreck on U.S. Highway 59 on Thursday.

A silver Honda Pilot failed to yield at a crossover on the highway at Hill Road about 6 p.m., getting in the path of a southbound black Ford Expedition, said state Trooper James Vinson.

The Expedition, carrying two adults - Daniel Weston, 43, and Regina Weston, 42, - and four children, rolled over and landed on its side in a ditch.

All six were taken to Citizens Medical Center. The two adults were expected to be released late Thursday, a hospital spokeswoman said. Conditions of the children were not available.

Both passengers in the Pilot, Nancy and Elmer Slayden, of Telferner, refused to be transported, said Vinson. The crash remains under investigation.
