Moulton school district meets state accountability standards
See how other districts performed
This week brought good news to teachers and administrators throughout the Moulton school district.
The district met its statewide standards.
The Texas Education Agency on Thursday released accountability ratings for schools throughout the Lone Star State.
Interim Superintendent Laura Whitson said she was glad to learn Moulton's results.
"The students, teachers and staff are to be congratulated," she said Thursday afternoon. "The board, the parents and the community are to be commended."
Whitson took her role with the district July 23 and so was not present during the school year. She could not elaborate on what led to Moulton's success.
Still, she said the district hopes to fare even better the next time around.
"We have the same expectations," she said, noting they're up to the challenge. "It's really going to be difficult to stay that high or to improve because they are so high this year."
