Victoria girl competes in junior Olympics

Abby Barnett, of Victoria, competed in the Amateur Athletic Union Junior Olympics at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti Mich. from July 26 to Aug. 2.  She competed in high jump in the 11-year-old division and won first place with a jump of 4 feet 10 inches.  Abby was awarded a gold medal and an All-American patch.  This is her second year in a row to win in this event.  Eryn Puett, of Columbia, Mo., came in second with a jump of 4 feet 8 inches,  and third was Camille Trotman, of Douglasville, Ga., with a jump of 4 feet 6 inches. Receiving their awards, from left, are Camille, Abby and Eryn.
