A man was robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot of a Victoria hotel about 9:40 p.m. Tuesday evening but then left the scene before officers could respond, said patrol officer Ricardo Soto.

Witnesses told police that a man in a dark-colored Crown Victoria robbed another man with a gun outside the hotel in the 3000 block of Rio Grande Street.

The suspect forced the man to the ground, robbed him and fled, Soto said.

The man who was robbed left in a gray Chevrolet Camaro, according to witness accounts.

Victoria police are looking for both men.
