Goliad Living History Re-enactment

Cost: $4 for ages 13-59; $3.50 for 60-99; $1 for ages 6-11; 5 and younger, and 100 and older, free. Tickets to the candlelight tour are an additional $2; only 720 tickets available for night tour

Presidio La Bahia

Where: 217 Loop 71, Goliad (U.S. Highway 183 South)

Hours: 9 a.m.-4:45 p.m. daily

Exhibits: Tour the museum, fort, soldiers' sleeping quarters and the chapel. Visit the gravesites of men who died in the Goliad Massacre. Explore artifacts from soldiers who lived there and follow a written, graphical history of the fort. Presidio La Bahia also hosts re-enactments and special events throughout the year.

Fees: Adults, $4 or $3.50 with discount; senior citizens, $3.50; children under 12, $1; children 5 and under free.

Shady Oaks Speedway

Where: 2185 Farm-to-Market Road 622

Description: 3/8 Mile Oval features late model, modifies, limited mods, super stocks, pure stocks, hot stocks mini stocks, classic dwarfs and farm trucks.

Tickets: Adult, $10; seniors, $8; children 6-12, $5; and free for children up to 5 years of age.

Goliad State Park

Where: 108 Park Road 6

Amenities: 188 acres includes Mission Espiritu Santo State Historic Site and is close to Presidio La Bahia, Ignacio Zaragoza Birthplace State Historic Site, Fannin Battleground State Historic Site, the Goliad Historic District, and Mission Rosario State Historic Site. Also has an amphitheater, museum, store, dining hall, playground, trailer dump station, restrooms with showers, nature trail and river trail.

Fannin Plaza Park/Fort Fun

Where: One block northeast of downtown square, South Market and East Franklin streets

Amenities: Sprawling playground, benches and trees next to downtown

Coleto Creek Park and Reservoir

365 Coleto Park Road, off U.S. 59

Amenities: 52 multi-use campsites; six multi-use pull-through campsites; four camping cabins; picnic area with 70 picnic tables with barbecue grills; marked swimming area; playground; and sand volleyball courts. Also, boat ramp, water skiing, two group pavilions with their own volleyball court, horseshoe pit, barbecue pit, water and electricity.

Also, 200-foot lighted fishing pier; 11/2 mile-long hiking and nature trail, restroom facilities, 3,100-acre lake.

Fee: $9 per vehicle per day, up to four people; $2 per person per day
