Good Samaritan rescues two people gone overboard off coast of Port O'Connor
Two people fell into the water after a tugboat and an 18-foot recreational boat collided in Port O'Connor.
The Port O'Connor Coast Guard station received the call at 5:50 p.m. Saturday from a third vessel that called in the collision, said public affairs officer Lt. Tyrone Conner.
The station deployed a 25-foot rescue boat, but the third vessel was already recovering the two people when the rescue team arrived. The two people, whose identities were not available, were not injured, Conner said.
The cause of the collision between the two vessels is still under investigation.
