There is help for those who had abortions

Editor, the Advocate:

Have you been there? Abortion is a lonely, treacherous road. One-third of all mothers have traveled on this awful highway. In America, 4,000 abortion victims are killed each day. As we saw recently from the abortionist Kermet Gosnell, who is now in prison, the killing centers in many states are where preborn babies as old as 9 months are killed and put either into garbage bags or the refrigerator. Their mothers are shuffled in like cattle, the abortion victim killed, and then the abortion survivors are shoved out the back door onto that terrible road that leads to drugs, alcohol and promiscuity. It is a lonely road. You're not allowed to talk about it. The one thing all mothers fear the most - the death of their child.

You can help. Look around you. If there is a man (yes, fathers also suffer) or woman whom you feel may be on this road, tell them about Rachel's Vineyard.

A Rachel's Vineyard retreat addresses the soul wounds that run deep in many women and men who are suffering with the psychological or spiritual pain of abortion. Memories of condemnation, abandonment, pain and confusion are handled with care and replaced by the healing presence and love of Jesus Christ. There is one taking place Dec. 16-18 in Corpus Christi. Visit rachelsvineyard.org.

If you have traveled this road of suffering, try to speak out and join Silent No More at Silentnomore.org.
