Give gift of life, donate blood

Throughout the holidays, people tend to be busier than usual. Visiting family, having company come over, shopping and other activities fill one's schedule.

Since more than 20 percent of South Texas blood donors consist of high school and college students, the community supply experiences a drop in donations during this time of year.

Yet the need for blood donors never goes away. You can make the difference to patients this December by giving an hour of your time to donate blood. You can give the best gift a patient is waiting for - the gift of life.

All presenting donors in December will be automatically entered to win one of two $500 Southwest Airlines gift cards.
