BEEVILLE

No report this week.

CUERO

Dec. 6

Receipts: 1,266

Had 176 cows and 20 bulls. The packer market was stronger than it has been. Better yielding cows and bulls were as much as $2 higher. Poorer types were at risk with this cold weather.

The calf market suffered mainly on account of the bad icy weather north of here. This makes timely shipments of cattle north hard to do, and time is money and health risks, too. Overall, the market is not that much off but in some classes as much as a $2 to $4 weakness was evident. However, the tops in a few better classes were actually a little higher than the previous sale.

Packer bulls: Heavyweights, $88-$99; lower grades, $70-$88.
