Power outage leaves Victoria West High School in the dark

Victoria West High School students were left in the dark for about an hour Monday afternoon.

A main switch shut-off caused the blackout, said Diane Boyett, Victoria school district communications director.

"They held the kids in the classrooms until they knew there was enough light in the stairwells for them to get to their next class," Boyett said. "Students and teachers conducted themselves very well."

Power went out at about 2:30 p.m., Boyett said.
